Williamsburg Muster Recap – SETGO’s Second Convention of the Year!
We’re back from the Williamsburg Muster, and man — what a blast.
This marked SETGO’s second convention of the year, and we packed it absolutely full of events. From start to finish the energy was high, the dice were hot, and the tables were constantly buzzing.
Even better? We launched our brand-new YouTube channel with a full event recap video from the Muster! 🎥 This convention wasn’t just great to attend — it became the perfect kickoff for sharing what SETGO is all about. Be sure to check out the video, like, and subscribe as we grow the channel.
Our Recap!
The Games We Ran
We brought a seriously stacked lineup to the Muster:
-
Flick Fleets – Dex-based space combat chaos at its finest
-
One Hour Skirmish: Crossroads at Normandy – Tight, fast-paced WWII action
-
Frostgrave – Wizards, warbands, and treasure hunting in the frozen city
-
Two Horus Heresy events
-
Blind Doubles Centurion
-
Our ongoing Narrative Campaign
-
-
Star Wars Legion Tours of Duty campaign play
-
A Bolt Action Tournament
-
Numerous bespoke scenario games designed specifically for the weekend
The variety was one of the highlights. You could jump from tactical WWII engagements to narrative Heresy play to flicking starships across the cosmos — and still have more to try.
Venue Notes
The hotel continues to improve each year, and that’s something we genuinely appreciate. That said, the lack of an on-site restaurant is still a bit of a bummer during long gaming days.
We ended up eating at Highway Pizza quite a bit — which made it especially sad to hear that they suffered a major fire just days after the convention. Our thoughts are with them, and we hope to see them back in action soon.
What made this one special?
What stood out the most wasn’t just the schedule — it was the atmosphere. The bespoke scenario games added a unique flavor, the tournament tables were competitive but welcoming, and the narrative events really embodied what SETGO aims to do: build community around great games.
This wasn’t just another event. It felt like momentum.
And what’s next?
We had an incredible time at the Williamsburg Muster, and we’re already looking forward to AdeptiCon. The year is only getting started, and we have more events, more coverage, and more gaming ahead.

The Heresy Players post Narrative!
“I’ve been going to the Muster since it launched in 2009! This was by far one of the best!”
